Kuya Bobby (Part I)

Note to Readers: I'm going to skip ahead from college of 2001 due to the fact na di pa ko ready ikwento ang married life ko noon...from 2001-2003 ;)

Time Line: October 2003

I've known Kuya Bobby since I was a kid. I was around 7 years old when I first met him and around that time he was already 20 years old. Best friend sya ng pinakapanganay na pinsan ko si kuya Dondi. When I was just a mere little girl, ako ang utusan nila to buy their softdrinks, coke or pepsi, kahit ano maisipan nila. Tawag nga sakin dati ni Kuya Bobby was Gelatine.

Who would have thought that after all those years magkikita kami ulit dito sa Canada. I got married on May 2001. My married life was going through a lot of difficulties at that time and naisipan ko to end the marriage by 2003. That was the time that I went to Mississauga. I was working then, when Kuya Dondi called me up and asked me to check on a guys name. Robert Pineda. Di agad pumasok sa isip ko na Robert Pineda was Kuya Bobby. So ako naman, sunod-sunuran sa pinsan ko, I quikly did a 411 (Name search) sa pangalan. So nakita ko number and address nya.

Kuya Dindo asked me to call the guy and ask if he knew Kuya Dindo. So again, I did.

Gelai: Ummm Hello, may I speak to Mr. Robert Pineda please?

Bobby: Speaking, who's this?

Gelai: Actually I'm just checking if I have the right number. My cousin ask me to try to call this number and ask a Mr. Robert Pineda if he knows someone by the name of Dondi from Cavite.

Bobby: Hold on, Pinay ka ba?

Gelai: Yeah...

Bobby: Oo kilala ko si Dondi, sino to?

Gelai: si Angelique

Bobby: Angelique? Do I know you ba?

Gelai: I don't know, di kita kilala eh.

Bobby: Well, tell your cousin Dondi that you got the right number, I guess I'll be expecting his call then?

Gelai: Yeah, I'll pass the message.

Bobby: Oh, one more thing, kilala mo ba si Gelatine?

Gelai: Who?? (medyo napasigaw ako)

Bobby: Si gelatine? yung makulit na maliit na pinsan ni Dondi!

Gelai: Shit...Kuya Bobby ikaw ba yan?

Bobby: Hahahahah, holy cow Gelo, you sound like a grown woman...so different from your whiny little voice back when you were 7. Hahahaha ang lupit ah sensual na nag pag "hello" mo para kang nang aakit.

Gelai: Loko, alangan naman I stay like that syempre lumalaki rin ang tao.

Bobby: So you mean to say mataba ka pa rin?

Gelai: Aray ko ah nakakasakit ka na...pero yeah I'm a bit chubbier na compared sa when I was in College. I have a son na.

Bobby: Huwat? Married ka na? Since when? How old are you na ba? 17? 18?

Gelai: Damn it naman kuya wag ka magpabata...21 na ko!

Bobby: Ok fine Ms. 21 years old, asan ka ba now?

Gelai: I'm near Square One Mall, working sa isang office at Hurontario.

Bobby: I'm still at Vaughn sa work ko...What about dinner? That is if ok lang sa asawa mo.

Gelai: Yes I was married but we're not together na...medyo mahabang story kuya yoko na muna pag usapan.

Bobby: Ok, ok...we won't talk about it...It's about 4 pm now, I'll be off at 5...I'm assuming same time ang off mo. Give me your phone number and I'll pick you up whenever you're ready. Around 7 pm?

Gelai: Naks social na si kuya ah...akala ko uutusan mo na naman ako to buy you something eh.

Bobby: Loka ka talaga, di no babawi ako sa slavery na inabot mo noon;) For now I have to go dami pa work ko to finish. I'll give you a call at 5 pm...get yourself ready.

Gelai: Ok Kuya, see you later then.

Bobby: Wear something casual, nood lang siguro tayo ng sine then dinner somewhere.

I can't remember at that time ano na itsura ni kuya Bobby. I remember him as a lanky tall person, di ko alam talaga how tall kasi as a kid diba lahat naman malalaki satin. I left work early 4:30 pm pa lang asked my sister to babysit for my son, took a shower wore my white capri pants, red sleeveless top, matching sandals na white and red din, with my bag. Tumawag si kuya Bobby as he said at 5 pm. I gave him my address and then I waited. At around 6:30pm I was ready to go. Few minutes after a yellow sports car parked in front of my apartment. Ang lupit ng car grabe...He was wearing blue, I was wearing white and red, and the car was yellow. Natawa ako bigla and the moment I stepped inside of his car...I saw him looked at me intently...ako rin sa kanya...sabay kami nagsalita

"Shit! Philippines Flag!!!! hahahahahah"...Typical kumustahan came about. How's my work, my life and his...ganun naman talaga diba?

We reached the theater and watched Exorcist the Beginning ba yun I can't remember na. I was scared sa movie so most of the time I was just hiding myself sa chest ni kuya Bobby, at syempre like he was before...kinakantyawan nya ko ng sobra. Until there was one scene na may lumabas bigla na wolf from the well, and sya napasigaw. Chance ko na makaganti so I said "Damn Robert you screamed like a girl!!" Namutla si kuya Bobby, took his arms from me kasi nakayakap ako sa kamay nya, then sabi "bahala ka matakot mag-isa mo." Tawa na ko ng tawa almost the whole movie.

Pag labas namin madaming tao nakatingin samin. Kuya Bobby was around 5'10 and ako is 5'7. Although I look terribly young. Ganda kasi ng katawan ni Kuya. He's a Muay Thai Boxing Instructor. So ako naman, sa dami ng nakatingin, I held onto his arms ulit. Buti na lang I did, kasi natisod ako. Napatawa na naman si kuya "Hahahah Angelique, lampa ka pa rin! ahahahhahaah"

Kuya Bobby was 34 na at this time I was 21...pero since maingat din sya sa katawan nya, he doesn't look any older than 28.

So we decided to go sa isang Filipino Restaurant/Club in Mississauga, kwentuhan ng katakot takot...then 1 am came...dapat na nya ko ihatid pauwi.

Nasa harap na kami ng apartment ko pero di pa rin sya natigil sa pagkwento, he really wanted to know what happened sa family ko, and that pag nakita nya daw ex-hubby ko babatukan nya kasi kuya ko sya. We ended the night, yayakap lang sana ako and say my thank you, when he suddenly tilted his head to meet my face and our lips touched. Napaurong ako...pero he caught my face and kissed me once more. He let go of me for a moment, then he looked deep in my eyes.

Bobby: Gel, you look pretty tonight. I never imagined you to be this grown woman.

Di ako nakagalaw where I was seated, I called home sandali to check on my son...walang sumasagot akala ko tulog na. I kissed Kuya Bobby again, on his cheeks then I went to my building door. Di sya umalis until he saw me inside the building.

Pag bukas ko ng pinto ng apartment ko...the double lock was in place...katok ako ng katok...walang sumasagot...I called again wala pa rin. No one was at home to open the other lock...Arrghhhh naman naman naman...

Wala ako matawagan na iba so I called kuya Bobby. Syempre gentleman he came and got me.
