The whole week, toilet break, ligo, bihis at pagkuha ng delivery sa pinto lang ang alis ko sa work station ko. Even tulog dun na ako bumabagsak sa table ko.

No pressure daw if hindi ako available at ayaw ko sya i-meet. No pressure talaga? May reservation ka na? Iba ka din! Mukhang yayamanin nga sya gaya ng duda ko. Wala naman sigurong restaurant na may reservation na mumurs lang.

Parang ang bilis maging Sunday. Half excited kasi I'll meet Bruce na. Half dreading it kasi balik work na ulit soon.
Body clock at work, woke up at 6am and can't sleep a blink more kahit anong pilit. Dilat lang at tulala, staring at the forming cobwebs sa ceiling...need to sweep that up soon. Gusto ko mag-isip but my mind is totally blank. I can't even plan out my prep times, what would I do sa hair ko, sa make up ko...final na ba yung napili ko na damit. Is it appropriate? Both for lunch and dinner? Bakit ayaw sumagot ng isip ko?! Bahala na si Batman mamaya.
Hmmm...better set the alarm ng 9am, 915am and 930am. Ayaw ko pa tumayo. But latest 930 I should cook and eat breakfast then start to prep if I want to make it out the door before noon.

Finally done with preps. Hinga malalim. Tagal na ng last date mo and now you confirmed 2 dates in a day! Bad ka Lea! Para mo sinabing either of them won't spend extended time sayo kasi cut short mo agad si Bruce for Wayne na gabi na so maybe no coffee after dinner na at diretso uwian. Final check ng bag...alcohol, extra masks, facial tissue, wet tissues, make up pang retouch, wallet. Ok. All set.
Of all places, sa hotel restaurant talaga nagbook. Automatic na may dress code. Nahirapan ako pumili sa mga kasya pang dress alin ang pwede pang lunch at dinner. Buti na lang kasya pa sa akin itong blue wrap-around dress ko. Medyo luwa nga lang ang aking boobies compared prepandemic. Speechless na ako after that. Wag na natin pagusapan ang price. This is spoiling me to the max! Way beyond kilig!!! Good thing dumating na ang dessert ko. Naturally, I shared it with him. Yeah I know pandemic and all...from different ends naman kami and magkaibang mini forks.
Just before we were done with the pie, dumating na soup and appetizer...after that yung main course. It was super enjoyable na parang di ito ang unang meeting...I mean date namin. The conversation was so candid na we sometimes forget na 4star hotel nga pala ito. Buti unti lang ang tao. Chef James accompanied our server nung main course na. He introduced himself and binuking si Bruce na kinakabahan. Para daw balik high school sya na manliligaw. Sabi pa ni Chef na bakuran na ako since walking distance lang pala ako from the hotel. Baka maunahan pa nya daw si Bruce.
After the meal. Busog man kami, Chef James sent a complimentary raspberry chocolate mousse before we headed off for coffee. Change of scenery naman daw sabi ni Bruce and the restaurant is about to close for the lunch service din naman na since it was already 3pm. Even kami ni Bruce nagulat na 3pm na.
Typical of Bruce to choose a place na for sure unti ang tao. We walked to a hole in the wall type na Cafe. Even ako na taga dito lang sa area hindi aware sa place na ito. Mahina ang music, boy band songs nung 90s to early 2000. And ang bango ng coffee. He led me to a table, grabbing the menu along the way. Asked my order and he went to the counter.
"Iced black. I hope di ka inaantok sa date natin for you to need a strong dose of caffeine."
"Mukha ba ako sleepy e tawa tayo ng tawa. Lunch was heavy and I didn't want to add more sa coffee."
"Thank you for showing up. I was already considering a late lunch with James kung di ka dadating. Now that you're here, I'm having the time if my life. I may have to cancel my dinner plans."
"Hala wag! Baka important yun. Pero ang cheesy mo! Don't be like that, baka masanay ako"

Our orders came and he ordered cookies and brownies to pair with our coffees. Mukhang mahaba pa ang araw namin together.
Bruce was all ligaw and praises now that we seem to have a corner to ourselves. May sariling mundo. He reached out for my hand. Kissed it a number of times looking me straight in the eye. My gulay! Parang naging signal na din for us to end our date. Pagkatapos ng tawag, malungkot syang nagbuntong hininga at nagkibit balikat.
"Well, just got reminded of my dinner plans. Shall I walk you home?"
I just nodded. He took the remaining cookies and brownies and asked the cafe staff to wrap it up. Baliw kasi he ordered every cookie and brownie kasi di nya alam alin gusto ko.
After walking out of the cafe, he took my hand and placed it in his arm.
"I want to see you again Lea, please say yes."
Ang weird. He was so serious na parang naiiyak. Pero he was not looking at me. Parang normal lang na naglalakad kami.
"I would love that Bruce. Today was more than nice."
He didn't answer back. He just squeezed my hand in his arm. I didn't know what to say kaya I kept quiet na lang din until we arrived at my bldg.

I must have turned super red sa bulong nyang yun. Sana sumagot ka na lang din halik. Baliw ka Lea hahaha bistado ka na din naman. Suot mo na nga ulit mask mo para makapagtago ka man lang ng mukha.

I tapped his shoulder before I slipped into a chair across him sa table.

Sabay kaming nagulat at napatingin sa amin lahat ng nakapaligid sa amin. We both said sorry then hagikgik na lang kami pareho.

Inabot nya ang kamay ko at hinawakan. Gusto yata nya halikan pero ang laki ng table kaya mahirap.

Di kita mamanyakin. Di kita imomotel or hotel. You're safe. Eat up what you want to finish but I'll get the bill na." He kissed my forehead and asked for our bill.

Pero kagabi was something different. Ilang weeks ko na sya nakakausap pero simula nung Friday ay parang lumalandi. Kagabi...shet! Ang sarap mag-wet sa kwento nya paano ang first date namin. I played while he was describing how he would do me. Syempre patay malisya lang muna ako, I didnt even mention na I was playing. I was just laughing and faking surprise pero sa totoo lang kinikilig na ako.
Bruce is a typical guy next door. Di naman sya 6pack guy. Just right with a slight beer belly. Matangkad din naman sa height na 5'10. A good 8 inches taller than me. 5 inches lang kung mag heels ako. So konting tilt lang ulo at pwede na magkiss.

The whole week, toilet break, ligo, bihis at pagkuha ng delivery sa pinto lang ang alis ko sa work station ko. Even tulog dun na ako bumabagsak sa table ko.
Buti na lang Friday na. Pwede na bumalik sa landi time. Buong week ako di nakapag log in sa blue*******. Kmusta na kaya si Bruce...sana wala syang ibang kalandian in my absence hahaha hopia ka Lea, ang ganda mo hahaha

Ang sad naman! Kung kailan ako available to chat...sya naman ang wala. May event daw sila sa office Saturday night kaya busy sa preparations ng Friday and Saturday. Mas marami kasi need asikasuhin now kapag wfh ang status. They are arranging for individual home delivery ng feast and package from their company.
Pero! Bawi sya. He wants to meet me Sunday for lunch. Hahaha Ligaw Intsik ka pala. Given ng hints kung san ang location ko ay nagpareserve na daw sya sa isang restaurant na walking distance from my place. Galing naman nya manghula. Para di na ako lumayo at baka di rin naman daw ako magpasundo pa dahil chat pa lang kami nagkakilala. Buti alam mo...kahit pa yummy ka!
No pressure daw if hindi ako available at ayaw ko sya i-meet. No pressure talaga? May reservation ka na? Iba ka din! Mukhang yayamanin nga sya gaya ng duda ko. Wala naman sigurong restaurant na may reservation na mumurs lang.

Parang ang bilis maging Sunday. Half excited kasi I'll meet Bruce na. Half dreading it kasi balik work na ulit soon.
Body clock at work, woke up at 6am and can't sleep a blink more kahit anong pilit. Dilat lang at tulala, staring at the forming cobwebs sa ceiling...need to sweep that up soon. Gusto ko mag-isip but my mind is totally blank. I can't even plan out my prep times, what would I do sa hair ko, sa make up ko...final na ba yung napili ko na damit. Is it appropriate? Both for lunch and dinner? Bakit ayaw sumagot ng isip ko?! Bahala na si Batman mamaya.
Hmmm...better set the alarm ng 9am, 915am and 930am. Ayaw ko pa tumayo. But latest 930 I should cook and eat breakfast then start to prep if I want to make it out the door before noon.

Finally done with preps. Hinga malalim. Tagal na ng last date mo and now you confirmed 2 dates in a day! Bad ka Lea! Para mo sinabing either of them won't spend extended time sayo kasi cut short mo agad si Bruce for Wayne na gabi na so maybe no coffee after dinner na at diretso uwian. At least di na mangungulit si Matie. Oh well.. let's go Lea. Let's enjoy today.
Final check ng bag...alcohol, extra masks, facial tissue, wet tissues, make up pang retouch, wallet. Ok. All set.
Of all places, sa hotel restaurant talaga nagbook. Automatic na may dress code. Nahirapan ako pumili sa mga kasya pang dress alin ang pwede pang lunch at dinner. Buti na lang kasya pa sa akin itong blue wrap-around dress ko. Medyo luwa nga lang ang aking boobies compared prepandemic. Half yata weight gain ko sa boobs napunta hahaha and nude heels... don't give up on me please. And wag mo ako itapilok. I know I haven't used you for more than a year...be good.
"Good afternoon Miss Lea, Mr. Bruce is waiting for you at your table. Orlan will escort you and will be your server"
Ay! Kilala ako by first name? Sige lang...baka pinakita ang photo ko. Sunod ka na lang kay Orlan. Wala na atrasan ito. Ay...wala sya sa table?

"Just arrived myself. Kinamusta ko lang si James, yung head chef dito. High school classmate. Been meaning to drop by to try out his menu, finally got the chance today."
On cue, Orlan gave me the menu. So hindi pa sya nag-order. Nice move. I hate it when guys assume what my order will be on the first date.
"Didn't order for you since I'm not sure what you are in the mood for today. I remember you saying na you eat whatever your mood is"
"Naks naman naalala."
"Pakita ko sayo later yung notes ko" wink wink
Shet nilabasan yata ako. I feel wet. Kalma ka lang Lea. Pademure smile ulit pero di mukhang high school...yes...yuko and look at the menu kunyari
"May recommendation ba si Chef?"
"French onion soup and steak. It goes well with the available salads today"
"And for dessert?"
"I was thinking of having coffee elsewhere after lunch if you're into it"
"Oh, okay. But I'd like to order a slice of key lime pie to serve na agad. Then I'll take chef's recommendations plus a surprise salad."
"A lady with a big appetite. That I like. I'll be having the beef wellington and the sampler appetizer. Orlan, please check with Chef James for his available wines to pair with our meals."
"So dessert as first course, ikaw pa lang nakita kong ganyan sa first date. Cute"
"You haven't seen the movie Remember Me?"

"Yes. Got it from there. What if I die at the start of a meal, at least I die happy eating dessert"
Ang haba ng tawanan namin after. My gulay, if looks can kill...murdered by multiple stabbed wounds na ako. He is so attentive and parang di naalis ang tingin nya sa akin. I think very briefly lang nung kausap nya si Orlan.
"Before ko makalimutan, for you" he gave me the wrapped gift in a tiny paper bag sa side ng table nya
"You shouldn't have bothered, first meeting pa lang natin."
"Date. First date Lea. Kaya all the more a gift is just appropriate"
Tulala pa ako opening the Pandora box. May 7 charms - laptop, moon, star, heart, padlock, an amethyst (my birthstone), and a sunflower (my favorite flower).
"Ito na ba yung notes mo? Parang all charms are from our convo"
"Picked it up myself. Let me help you..."
Speechless na ako after that. Wag na natin pagusapan ang price. This is spoiling me to the max! Way beyond kilig!!! Good thing dumating na ang dessert ko. Naturally, I shared it with him. Yeah I know pandemic and all...from different ends naman kami and magkaibang mini forks.
Just before we were done with the pie, dumating na soup and appetizer...after that yung main course. It was super enjoyable na parang di ito ang unang meeting...I mean date namin. The conversation was so candid na we sometimes forget na 4star hotel nga pala ito. Buti unti lang ang tao. Chef James accompanied our server nung main course na. He introduced himself and binuking si Bruce na kinakabahan. Para daw balik high school sya na manliligaw. Sabi pa ni Chef na bakuran na ako since walking distance lang pala ako from the hotel. Baka maunahan pa nya daw si Bruce.
After the meal. Busog man kami, Chef James sent a complimentary raspberry chocolate mousse before we headed off for coffee. Change of scenery naman daw sabi ni Bruce and the restaurant is about to close for the lunch service din naman na since it was already 3pm. Even kami ni Bruce nagulat na 3pm na.
Typical of Bruce to choose a place na for sure unti ang tao. We walked to a hole in the wall type na Cafe. Even ako na taga dito lang sa area hindi aware sa place na ito. Mahina ang music, boy band songs nung 90s to early 2000. And ang bango ng coffee. He led me to a table, grabbing the menu along the way. Asked my order and he went to the counter.
"Iced black. I hope di ka inaantok sa date natin for you to need a strong dose of caffeine."
"Mukha ba ako sleepy e tawa tayo ng tawa. Lunch was heavy and I didn't want to add more sa coffee."
"Thank you for showing up. I was already considering a late lunch with James kung di ka dadating. Now that you're here, I'm having the time if my life. I may have to cancel my dinner plans."
"Hala wag! Baka important yun. Pero ang cheesy mo! Don't be like that, baka masanay ako"
"I can make it a habit kapag nasanay ka hahaha"
"By the way, how was your work event last night? I hope it went well."
"It was a blast! The employees loved the surprise guest, we were able to book BTS to sing 2 songs-online pero live. And we sent gift and meal packages to everyone. Minsan isang taon lang ang anniversary celebration. The company won't be this big kung di sila hardworking"

We encourage inter office relationships pero as part of the management, to remain objective, I opt not to date internally. Not that I see a prospect there. They are all lovey dovey eyes on me. Our orders came and he ordered cookies and brownies to pair with our coffees. Mukhang mahaba pa ang araw namin together.
Bruce was all ligaw and praises now that we seem to have a corner to ourselves. May sariling mundo. He reached out for my hand. Kissed it a number of times looking me straight in the eye. My gulay! And he didn't bother kapag minsan nagpapawis kamay ko sa kaba. Tinatawanan pa nga nga kasi sya rin daw. We talked about music, places we've been, businesses and even politics linked with the pandemic issue. Then it was 6pm. Someone called him and he just calmly answered, it's still a go. Parang naging signal na din for us to end our date. Pagkatapos ng tawag, malungkot syang nagbuntong hininga at nagkibit balikat.
"Well, just got reminded of my dinner plans. Shall I walk you home?"
I just nodded. He took the remaining cookies and brownies and asked the cafe staff to wrap it up. Baliw kasi he ordered every cookie and brownie kasi di nya alam alin gusto ko.
After walking out of the cafe, he took my hand and placed it in his arm.
"I want to see you again Lea, please say yes."
Ang weird. He was so serious na parang naiiyak. Pero he was not looking at me. Parang normal lang na naglalakad kami.
"I would love that Bruce. Today was more than nice."
He didn't answer back. He just squeezed my hand in his arm. I didn't know what to say kaya I kept quiet na lang din until we arrived at my bldg.
"This is me. Thank you for that wonderful lunch Bruce. See you soon I guess?"

He walked in front of me. Facing me. Then he cupped my face with his hands.
"Will you be my girlfriend Lea?"
Ay! That I didn't expect. I super like him. Pero GF agad on the first meeting? Is this real?
Bruha! May iba nga di pa nagkikita sila na. Kinikilig ka naman. Basa ka na diba...kanina pa.
Quiet ka lang self. Iba ito. It's beyond attraction. Beyond lust to his yumminess.
Late ko na narealize na I froze while my inner selves are debating. Kasi he looked sad and sorry.
"I'm sorry Lea. I didn't mean to shock you. Of course it's just our first time to meet. And it's only been weeks since we started chatting. But...you will think about it, right? No need to answer now love..."
"See you next weekend then? I still have this deadline this week so my workdays and nights will be full. Friday dinner ok with you?"
Hayyy...sana bawi naman ako. Di ko pa rin kaya sagutin sya. Baka sa Friday if tuloy and he brings it up again. At least second date na diba. Pero actually gusto ko na. Gusto ko sya halikan at kalimutan ang dinner with Wayne. Kami na lang ulit mag dinner at magkwentuhan magdamag
Yep...it looks like it worked. He smiled a little. His eyes lit up.

With that said...he removed both our masks and...he kissed me! Sa lips. Shet! Sasagot ba ako? Bakit di pa sya umaalis. Alis ka na...kasi parang sasagutin na kita if tatapatan ko yang halik mo. Sarap namnamin ng halik mo...
"Lea...the kiss is over. You can open your eyes now"
I must have turned super red sa bulong nyang yun. Sana sumagot ka na lang din halik. Baliw ka Lea hahaha bistado ka na din naman. Suot mo na nga ulit mask mo para makapagtago ka man lang ng mukha.
"Sya! Go at baka malate ka sa dinner mo. See you Friday Bruce"
"I'll be here by 5pm ready to take you out for dinner hahaha"
Ayun na. Lakad na sya papalayo. Grabe! Mukhang need ko magfreshen up! Nagbaskil ako sa intense na eksena hahaha iwan ko na din itong box ng bracelet and brownies. I can't believe na magiging boyfriend ko yung malaking taong naglalakad papalayo.
Wait!!!!! Di kami ang exchange numbers! Oh well.. alam naman na nya san ako nakatira.
I want to preserve the memories with what I was wearing. Kaya palit damit na din to a more casual look. Mall naman kami magkita ni Wayne.
Wearing my new bracelet, tied my hair up, a somewhat asymmetrical top over a denim skirt and dressy pair of sneakers. Lipat laman ng bag into a tiny slingbag. Oks. Ready for dinner. Sana Wayne can keep up convo. Kawawa sya if hindi kasi for sure macompare ko sya kay Bruce.

"Cibo is fine. Papunta na ako. Is it ok if you order ahead na? Spinach dip and mozzarella white cheese basil for me please. And a glass of lemonade. Will be there in 5 minutes. See you"

Di na ako magreply. Makikita ko na din naman sya agad siguro.

"Good evening Ms. Lea. Your table is at the farthest left side corner. Mr. Wayne just placed your orders. It'll be served in 15-20minutes"
Magpapahatid pa sana ako pero may mga paparating na guests na need ng assistance nya. Nakita ko naman na ang table pero nakatalikod sya.
I tapped his shoulder before I slipped into a chair across him sa table.
"Oh-Em-Gee!"
"Oh shit!"
Sabay kaming nagulat at napatingin sa amin lahat ng nakapaligid sa amin. We both said sorry then hagikgik na lang kami pareho.
"Oo na, tawa ka. My full name is Bruce Wayne Manansala. Wala maisip parents ko, patawa diba"
"Wala akong sinasabi hihihihi it's nice to finally meet you Wayne."
Tuloy lang kami ngisi then tawa on repeat. Para kaming nag-uusap with no words.
"Pero seryoso. I'm happy that you are the same Lea. I've been hoping pero di naman kasi ikaw lang ang Lea na nakatira malapit dito. It's really a pleasant surprise. My prayer kanina na I wanted to extend my time with you is now answered." Wink wink
"Talaga lang ha!"
Inabot nya ang kamay ko at hinawakan. Gusto yata nya halikan pero ang laki ng table kaya mahirap.
"I know it's going to be difficult talking while eating pero can I request something from you?"
"Kanina pa tayo talking while eating...what would make it difficult now?"
"Seat beside me. So I can place ng arms around you sometimes. And I love your scent...(I feel so flushed...how red is my face hahaha) please Lea (awww man turned to a cutie with puppy dog eyes...how can I resist...so I stood up to transfer next to him)...yes!"
He immediately hugged me and I can feel him smelling my head and kissing it. Hahaha this guy is something else. Saglit lang naman yun kasi alam nyan it's gonna be awkward if he hugged longer than a few seconds. Then he rattled on telling me what he did since we parted.
He had no intention of changing clothes daw coz he wasn't really in the mood to meet Matie's friend. But he felt that nothing should be shared sa memory nung suot nya kanina - OhEm...my thoughts exactly diba. And it has my scent that he wanted to preserve. Ang cheesy nya. Pero why do I find it cute and sweet instead of creepy.
He said sorry for delaying meeting up with me. Matie has been going on and on about setting me up. She's been like that for years and so far, sa 3 ladies na hindi success matchmaking skills nya...I dreaded her 4th suggestion. She said ikaw sana yung una but you were still in a relationship that time. She just started mentioning you about a year ago. That time I was already hiding from her. Bakit ganun yung best friend mo. Ang kulit! Pero buti makulit sya kasi I met you after all this time.
Dumating ang orders namin. We ate. He made me try his orders...squash soup and shrimp calzone. Feel na feel nya sinusubuan ako. Lakas manglandi kasi sinasadya nya na madungisan ng unti ang labi ko para may pupunasan sya. Hay naku! Syempre kilig naman ako at pinagbibigyan sya.
"Hay naku! Style mo! Kunyari ka pa e kanina nagnakaw ka na ng halik"
"Yun na nga, baka masanay ako puro nakaw...unless papayagan mo na ako?"
Wahhh!!! Di sya nag-aksaya ng oras. His face was almost touching mine when he said that...daring me to deny him of this kiss. He was looking down on me (tangkad e)...lips probably just a centimeter away from the tip of my nose. He was overwhelmingly close I had to close my eyes.
As if it was the go signal he's been waiting for. He kissed me. Light and inviting. Like tasting me. Then I felt his tongue asking me to respond and kiss him back. I did. O such bliss! He deepened his kiss now but not demanding anymore. Please stop...I might end up doing something that should not be done in public. Ahhh sarap. Please stop. Coz I can't.
Parang narinig nya ako. He stopped and resumed eating as if nothing happened. Pero he was staring at me. Looking at my reaction. Examining my emotions. I know that grin. I make that face when I feel victorious myself hahaha.
Habang ngumunguya sya...inakbayan ako at bumulong.
"With a kiss like that...guess you are my girlfriend now. Unless you kiss every guy that way"
Deadma. Ganyan ka ha. Kain din ako. Don't talk when your mouth is full diba. NR ka muna sa akin hahaha
"Don't wait for me to kiss you again before mo sagutin ang tanong ko. Baka kung saan tayo mapadpad kakapigil mo sumagot"
Subo ulit ng pasta Lea. Hahaha let's see what he will do. Sutil ka talagang babae ka. You're a tease.
"Kapag di ka pa sumagot in 5...aangkinin ko ulit labi mo and di mo alam paano ka maglalakad palabas ng resto. 5....4....3....2..."
"Ano ulit tanong mo?"
Grabe ang tawa nya sabay yakap sa akin.
"Never mind. Done eating?"
Baliw na tanong. Kita naman nyang half pa lang nakakain ko. Sya nga wala pang 1/3 ang bawas sa food nya.
"I remembered I need to go somewhere. Samahan mo ako saglit then let's grab something to eat na lang ulit later. Please. Trust me on this one. Hey hey...don't look at me like that. Di kita mamanyakin. Di kita imomotel or hotel. You're safe. Eat up what you want to finish but I'll get the bill na." He kissed my forehead and asked for our bill.
